Applications are invited for the position of Associate Editor of The Journal of Pediatric Nursing: Nursing Care of Children and Families (JPN) publishes evidence-based practice, quality improvement, theory, and research papers on a variety of topics from US and international authors. JPN is the official journal of the Society of Pediatric Nurses and the Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society. Cecily L. Betz, PhD, RN, FAAN is the Editor in Chief. The successful candidate for the position of Associate Editor will be recognized for his or her academic and research achievements and will have an impressive track record of publications or presentations. The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:

The main functions within this role are:
Oversee journal departments to ensure prompt publication of high-quality, clinically relevant content and work with department editors to select topics and contributors
Contribute content to departments and the journal as needed, including writing one editorial per year
Collaborate with the Editor in Chief to solicit, develop, and review content for new department for quality improvement projects
Support the Editor in Chief in overall journal management, particularly with soliciting and reviewing manuscripts, authors, and reviewers
Serve as a reviewer and member of the editorial board
Participate in editorial board meetings and journal strategic planning efforts
The paid post also involves working closely with the Publisher and the Editorial Board and requires a consistent, weekly commitment of time, with additional time for meetings or conference calls. Appointment initially will be for a 2-year term.
