Investigators are invited to submit manuscripts related to methodology in the investigation of biobehavioral and physiological phenomena for a special issue of Biological Research for Nursing. Scientific investigation of biobehavioral and physiological phenomena relies on gathering empirical data. For data collected to be meaningful, informed decisions need to be made a priori as to 1) which variables to measure and 2) what methods to employ to ensure measurement accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility. The goal of this special issue is to review the inclusion of biobehavioral and physiological variables in nursing research, including the rationale used by nurse researchers in selecting which variables to measure, what methods to employ, and what limitations might be encountered. Reflections on the role of nurse scientists in interdisciplinary biobehavioral or physiological-based research teams are welcome as well.
Biological Research for Nursing is the only journal specifically intended to deliver basic, clinical, and applied research about biological changes in healthy and unhealthy populations to nurses. The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles that address issues such as:
>       Theoretical foundations that increase understanding of biological and physiological changes in health and illness
>       Enhancements in health care interventions developed through biological and physiological research findings
>       New methods, instruments, and techniques for biological and physiological research
