Invitation for Trainees (Global Health Conf)

20th Annual GHEC Conference: Program Committee Invitation for Trainees

Interested in helping shape one of the largest upcoming global health conferences in North America? Do you have ideas on how to design a dynamic forum for leaders, academics and professionals to inform their practice and conceptualization of topical areas in global health?

Fall 2011 marks the first time that three leading North American-based global health organizations – Global Health Education Consortium http://www.ghec.org/ , the Consortium of Universities for Global Health http://www.cugh.org/ and the Canadian Society for International Health http://www.csih.org/en/index.asp will come together in a joint meeting. These Societies are excited about working together, and this joint meeting will be a unique opportunity to showcase global health research, education and advocacy across a wide range of audiences and groups.

We are seeking a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of learners – in public health, anthropology, nursing, OT, PT, medicine, among others disciplines to form Trainees and Early Career Conference Planning Committee for Montreal 2011. Trainees will provide direct input into the program in shaping the theme, expected outcomes, keynote speakers, panel discussion,  and integrate trainees and early-career professionals at every level into the event.

Please send an email to jennifer.hulme@mail.mcgill.ca  with cc to Globalhealth@mcgill.ca  with “Global Health Conference Committee” in the title. Include a) Your name b) University or institutional affiliation c) Area of training and d) a brief statement < 250 words outlining your interest in joining the committee with one idea or effective format you would like to see at the 2011 global health conference. Deadline: November 7th.

All interested parties will be contacted by Nov 21st, 2010.

  1. I am so sorry to have missed the deadline for participating in the Training for the Global Health Conference. Is there any chance I could send a late submission. I am a practicing physician who is in the Narrative Medicine Master’s Program at Columbia and would like very much to add whatever expertise I have gained so far to help in formatting this conference.
Thank you for your kind attention.

  2. Dana, this Web site simply posts calls for submissions/proposals from around the world. They are not posted by their originators nor monitored by them. You will have to contact the conference organizers directly.
