Thanks for sharing this resource. Such good collective advice and especially about bringing in the first-person to otherwise rigid (and boring) academic writing. All of the writing assignments I give my nursing students ‘require’ the use of first-person “I” alongside scientific evidence. Yet I still get flack from my academic nurse colleagues that this is just “creative writing” and somehow not ‘real’ academic writing.
